Per CA State Law, personal knowledge is not permissible. Every signer must have valid and current identification or the notary public will need to perform the Oath of a Single Credible Witness or the Oath of Two Credible Witnesses. The notary only notarizes the signature on the document and verifies the true identity of the signer, but not the actual document.
